Citizens Police Academy
CPA participants meet for about 3 hours one night a week and two Saturdays for 12 weeks. The majority of the sessions are held at the Honolulu Police Department's Alapai Headquarters at 801 South Beretania Street. Other locations include the Koko Head pistol range and Ke Kula Makai, our training facility in Waipahu Hawaii.
A variety of topics are covered including: Firearms, Communications, Report Writing, Police Vehicle Operations, Domestic violence, Crime Scene Investigation and Community Policing.
Graduates of the Citizens Police Academy represent a diverse cross section of our community: Department of Education employees, business men and women, retired persons, media personnel, government representatives, community officials as well as the general public.
