The children at Central Union Church Preschool were so excited to meet officers from District 7 and from the K-9 Unit. The children got to see an excellent demo from the K-9 Team and view a real HPD Patrol car.

Officer Holden presented a SCAM prevention presentation to the parishioners of Calvary by the Sea Chapel. The group had great questions for the officers and received great information on keeping financially safe.

The District 7 CPT presented a "Say Hi" to the preschoolers of Waiokeola. The children were excited in getting to sit in a real police car and speaking to the officers. Mahalo to Waiokeola for the leis and awesome snacks!

In following the HELP program created by HPD, various outreach organizations joined up to canvas the areas of Waikiki, Old Stadium Park, Crane Park and Moiliili Field to offer assistance and shelter for the homeless. Mahalo to all for your perseverance!

Mahalo to the Jasmine Street Neighborhood Security Watch for hosting a revitalization meeting. There was delicious food and the sharing of information on criminal activity for their neighborhood. It was a most productive meeting and if you would like a revitalization of your NSW please contact your Community Policing Team!

District 7 Community Policing Team and Walk Wise Hawaii promoted safe walking to the children at Kanewai Summer Fun. Walk Wise demonstrated the proper ways to use the crosswalks and passed out high visibility vests for the children. The officers highlighted pedestrian laws and spoke about being good citizens when walking.

Mahalo to the Kamiloiki Community for their interest in starting up a Neighborhood Security Watch. The NSW program is a great way for a community to prevent crime. Mahalo to Kenji and the Kamiloiki Community.

When do you practice Crime Prevention? Answer "All The Time". Mahalo to Hawaii East Oahu Realtors for hosting a meeting on Crime Prevention. The District 7 CPT shared personal safety tips to the realtors in educating them about safety.

Mahalo to our community partners Kahala Mall and Starbucks Hawaii in coordinating a Coffee With A Cop event with the District 7 Community Policing Team. The officers had an excellent time speaking with the public while enjoying a nice cup of coffee.

Creative thinking and great work by the Hahaione Valley NSW & Citizen Patrol in developing their own high visibility Citizen Patrol vests. If you live around Hahaione consider joining this enthusiastic security group. Great Job!

The District 7 CPT presented a crime prevention presentation and shared tips to help our elders stay safe in an everchanging world. Mahalo to the Chinese Catholic Club for hosting this event and serving a delicious lunch.

As Police Week concludes, District 7 CPT would like to thank all officers for their service. Also a big Mahalo to our families, friends and to our community partners for their support! Stay Safe and MAHALO!

Congratulations to the residents of Kalani'iki Estates in organizing a Neighborhood Security Watch. Mahalo for taking a proactive approach in Crime Prevention.

District 7 CPT visited the preschool students at Holy Nativity School to educate the children about police officers being their community helper. The officers had a great time and enjoyed a snack with the children as well.

District 7 CPT with the help of District 5 CPT coordinated a Community Traffic Awareness Program at Kamehameha School Kapalama Campus. The elementary students did a great job promoting safe driving habits with their creative signs. Mahalo to Kamehameha Schools for a job well done!

Located on the shores of beautiful Diamond Head, Shangri La Museum invited the District 7 CPT to educate their staff about an active threat event. The staff was very receptive to the fact that at anytime a peaceful location can be a target for an active shooter.

What to do with your unused or expired prescription drugs? The DEA created their National Take Back Drug Initiative drop off events. District 7 CPT partnered with the DEA and collected about 1,000 pounds of prescription drugs at their Kahala Mall site. Be on the look out for the next event in October.

District 7 CPT was invited to the Anuenue Elementary Career Day. The officers had a great time speaking to the children and explaining their job to them. Mahalo to the faculty and staff for the ono refreshments at the conclusion of the event.

Corporal Libarios showcased an HPD patrol car to the students at UH Manoa Children Center. The children had a great time viewing and seeing up close a real police car.

The C&C of Honolulu Parks Department has closed Kalo Mini Park for refurbishment. Doing the closure the park will be remodeled and no admittance of the public is allowed.

Mahalo to the Waipuna Woodlawn Alani Puhala Neighborhood Security Watch for hosting a terrific Potluck Dinner. A great turnout for their annual dinner and also very informative with information on CERT. Thank you to all for great evening!

Mahalo to the students and staff of Kamiloiki Elementary for hosting a Community Traffic Awareness Event. Also Mahalo to the Koko Head Lions for their community support with this event!

Mahalo to the Niu Valley Middle School for inviting District 7 CPT officers to their annual Career Day! Many great questions were asked by the students and thank you to the school staff for the delicious refreshments.

Mahalo to Wilson Elementary and Farmers Hawaii for hosting a Community Traffic Awareness Program. The students did an outstanding job holding signs to educate the public.
