The District 7 CPT did a walk of the Palolo Stream to address the complaints of a homeless encampment. The challenges that these officers face are everyday but they do their duty to make sure our communities remain safe.

The District 7 CPT presented an NSW Presentation to the Hawaiiana Management Company. We thank this small group in being creative by using the outside lawn area as their meeting space while wearing masks to stay protected. The group was thankful that District 7 CPT could accommodate them.

The District 7 CPT assisted with the Palolo COVID Test Site. As we are all facing a hard time in dealing with this dangerous virus the city of Honolulu continues to provide testing to help the public.

During these trying times District 7 CPT continues to do outreach for the homeless. The HONU project has been the best program to get these residentially challenged individuals into shelter. Mahalo HONU Project!

During the recent protest Sergeant Arriba helped a protestor carry their stroller over a wall so they could continue with their peaceful march. A great example of how HPD serves with ALOHA to the community.

Corporal Macaibay presented a Crime Prevention presentation to the new officers of District 7 CPT. This was his last day presenting as he was recently promoted to sergeant. Mahalo for your dedicated community service to District 7.

Officers from the District 7 CPT provided outreach to homeless males near the Kapahulu Bike Path. Three males that were homeless are now in the POST/HONU program to get them back on their feet and into shelter. Just another way HPD is answering the call for our residentially challenged.

As many of us are practicing social distancing and following the stay at home guideline, there are others that would like all of this to end. Re-Open Hawaii held a protest to voice their opinions and the HPD Civil Affairs unit was there to establish a communication line to keep this a peaceful demonstration.

HPD assists with the Food Distribution for affected people that are in need of food as this pandemic has change every aspect of everyday life. For further information please go to the Hawaii Food Bank web page.

The District 7 Officers from all support units and patrol watches have enforced many laws about the city parks. One example has been Crane Park where the sidewalk has been cleared and the pavilion free of any bad elements. Please thank your First Responders as they continue to work during these difficult times.

During these trying times East Honolulu residents had an opportunity to get tested if they met the criteria. Mahalo to District 7 Patrol Officers and the District 7 CPT for assisting with this event.

The District 7 CPT conducted outreach to our homeless population to inform them of the HONU project. The HONU project is a great tool to navigate them into permanent shelter.

The District 7 CPT was invited to speak to the KCC Tourism Class about crime prevention. Crime Prevention should always be in play while out and about.

Mahalo to Moili'ili Honwanji for inviting the District 7 CPT to speak about crime prevention. There were many questions and very good suggestions from the audience. Mahalo to Lily for the awesome snacks!

The District 7 CPT with the Solo Bike Detail presented a Say Hi presentation to the children at Hawaii Kai Learning Center. The students were so excited in getting to sit on a real police motorcycle and to meet all the officers.

The HONU Project is a new way that the City of Honolulu in collaboration with HPD will be resolving homeless issues in the community. This program will hopefully get people off of our streets and into shelter with a more involved approach.

The District 7 CPT was introduced to the HOME Project a homeless outreach and medical service program. The HOME project consists of trained medical professionals that offer aid to the homeless or anyone that needs medical advice. From colds to minor sores the HOME project is there to help. Meet them every last Thursday of the month, 9am-12pm at St. Mary's Episcopal Church.

Mahalo to our Farmer Hawaii Friends who hosted a Community Traffic Awareness Program fronting Wilson Elementary. A big THANKS to the student council, teachers, school staff and Farmers Hawaii for helping us educate the community about safe driving!

Mahalo to the 4th graders of Palolo Elementary for inviting the District 7 CPT for lunch and conversation. The children had many questions about our job as officers.

Mahalo to Wilson Elementary for inviting the District 7 CPT, Solo Bike Unit and DARE program for their annual Career Day. There were many other occupations their to share their job descriptions and it was a very interesting event. Thank you to all of the staff members with hosting a great potluck lunch.

Mahalo to the Hawaii Kai Lions for inviting the District 7 CPT in presenting a Crime Prevention Presentation. Many questions were asked and the Lions appreciated our information about awareness. Thank you to all of the Lions for a great night of food and conversation.

The District 7 CPT presented a Say Hi Presentation and a Keiki ID event at the Kapiolani Community College Preschool. The children had a fun time with the officers. Mahalo to the KCC Preschool for the ono snacks and thank you poster.
