Ask HPD: Curfew Laws

Question: Is there a curfew law for teenagers?

Answer: Yes, there is a curfew law. Anyone under the age of 16 may be arrested between the hours of 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. unless he or she is with a parent or guardian. However, there are exceptions if the teenager is returning from a job or school function.

Question: What are the penalties?

Answer: If found in violation, the child may be arrested. Both the child and parent will then need to appear in family court.
