Promotion Ceremony for HPD Employees


Eighteen officers and one civilian employee are moving up the ranks in the Honolulu Police Department. They were honored during a ceremony on April 19, 2018 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center’s Pikake Room.

The new lieutenants include:

Damien Solon, Records and Identification Division
Brian Taniguchi, Traffic Division
Brandi Marie Yarnell, Central Receiving Division

The new sergeants include:

Johnny Bahng, Traffic Division
Aisha Romero, District 1 (Central Honolulu)

The new detectives include:

John DeMello, Criminal Investigation Division
David Lacuata, Criminal Investigation Division
Chadwick Lee, Criminal Investigation Division
Alan Lu, Criminal Investigation Division
Dennis Matsumura, Criminal Investigation Division
Austin Yoshino, Criminal Investigation Division

The new corporals include:

Frank Flores, District 2 (Mililani/Wahiawa/North Shore)
Bryant Ho, District 5 (Kalihi)
Claude Izuka, District 1
Kevin Kaneshiro, District 1
John Mau, District 7 (East Honolulu)
Nelson Omandam, District 8 (Kapolei/Waianae)
Jon Tokunaga, District 7

Ms. Megumi Okuda was promoted to Fingerprint Records Examiner I in the Records and Identification Division.
