On May 3, 2021, at about 12:30 P.M., a fatal Motor Vehicle Collision occurred in the Wahiawa area.
An 81 year old male was operating a 2005 Toyota pickup truck and was headed south on Kamehameha Highway, just past Paalaa Uka Pupukea Road, when for unknown reasons, he drifted across the center medial and into the northbound lanes. His vehicle collided into the driver’s side, rear corner of a 2014 Jeep Wrangler that was being driven by a 32 year old female, who sustained only minor injuries.
The male was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
This is the 17th Traffic Fatality for 2021 compared to 14 at the same time as 2020.
At this time, speed, alcohol or drugs do not appear to be contributing factors in this collision.
This investigation is on-going.
