On Saturday, December 25, 2021, at about 6:15 p.m., a Major Motor Vehicle Collision occurred in the Honolulu area, involving a moped.
A blue Zhong moped, operated by a 49 year old male, was traveling southbound on Kalakaua Avenue when it struck a curb north of the Ala Wai Boulevard.
The operator of the moped was not wearing a helmet. He was transported to an area hospital in “Critical” condition with injuries to his head and neck.
Speed does not appear to be a factor in this collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors.
