On December 06, 2024, at about 4:10 PM, a critical motor vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist occurred on Farrington Highway near Alapaki Street in the Waianae area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 46-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Farrington Highway, when he traveled over a City And County of Honolulu speed hump, and loss control. The male motorcyclist was then ejected onto the roadway and sustained injuries.
As a result of the collision, the 46-year-old male motorcyclist was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition.
The 46-year-old male motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time, speed does not appear to be a contributing factor of this collision. It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
The investigation is ongoing.
