E-Bike/E-Motorcycle Enforcement Operation in Ewa Beach, April 7, 2025

April 9, 2025

  • E-Bike/E-Motorcycle Enforcement Operation in Ewa Beach, March 7, 2025
  • E-Bike/E-Motorcycle Enforcement Operation in Ewa Beach, March 7, 2025

  • On Monday, April 7, 2025, District 8’s Community Policing Team, Burglary Detail, and Misdemeanor Detail conducted an E-bike/E-Motorcycle Operation in the Ewa Beach area using officers dressed in everyday clothing. Seven citations were issued for a total of 15 violations, 70 warnings were given for helmet and bike registration issues, and five electric dirt bikes were recovered.

This was the second e-bike/e-motorcycle operation conducted near Campbell High School. Last month’s operation resulted in a significant reduction in violations. Many of the juveniles who received citations in March were seen yesterday wearing helmets and riding legal e-bikes/e-motorcycles.

The Honolulu Police Department and District 8 continue to encourage parents to understand the law to keep their children safe. As a reminder, any e-bike/e-motorcycle that could not be pedaled or that had an engine size exceeding 750 watts was illegal. All e-bikes 750 watts and below should be registered, and all riders under 18 must wear a helmet. Whether you drive, ride, or walk, road safety is a shared responsibility, requiring all users to be attentive, considerate, and to follow traffic laws to ensure everyone reaches their destination safely.
