March 10, 2006
On March 10, 2006, at about 4:00 p.m. Jason Nam was washing his car in the parking garage of his apartment building, located at 1709 South Beretania Street when he was approached by three unknown males. A confrontation ensued, during which Nam was shot once in the neck. The suspects then fled in a stolen Nissan Maxima, which was found later that night, burned, in the Mililani area. The suspect vehicle had been stolen eight days prior from Kipapa Drive, near Mililani High School. Although the suspects were wearing bandannas, a witness was able to see one of their faces when his mask slipped, and a composite drawing was developed. All suspects were described as males in their twenties. The suspect in the sketch was further described as being a local male, approximately 5’10” tall, 160 pounds, with black hair, and a prominent mole near his right eye.
