On February 13, 2025, at about 10:25 PM, a critical motor vehicle collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian occurred on Ala Moana Boulevard near the intersection of Ward Avenue in the Honolulu area.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 58-year-old male motorist and his 58-year-old female passenger were traveling westbound on Ala Moana Boulevard and collided with a 42-year-old male pedestrian who ran northbound in a marked crosswalk against the illuminated Do Not Walk sign.

As a result of the collision, the 42-year-old male pedestrian was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition.

The 58-year-old male motorists and 58-year-old female passenger remained at the scene and were not injured as a result of the collision.

At this time, speed, alcohol, nor drugs appear to be contributing factors in this collision.
