On February 17, 2025, the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section was notified by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office that the 23-year-old male motorcyclist involved in this collision had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
This is the 8th Traffic Fatality of 2025 as compared to 5 at the same time in 2024.
The investigation remains on-going.

On Saturday, February 15, 2025, at about 1113 hours, a critical motor vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist occurred southbound on the H2 Freeway in the Mililani area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 23-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling southbound on the H2 Freeway at a high rate of speed when he lost control and collided with a guardrail.
As a result of the collision, the 23-year-old male motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway. He was taken via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition.
It is unknown if the 23-year-old motorcyclist was wearing a helmet during the collision, but a helmet was located at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
