On February 18, 2025, at about 11:40 PM, a critical motor vehicle collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian occurred on Nuuanu Avenue near the intersection of School Street in the Honolulu area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 52-year-old female motorist and her 35-year-old male passenger were traveling southbound on Nuuanu Avenue and collided with a 61-year-old male pedestrian who crossed the roadway, westbound, outside of a marked crosswalk. The male pedestrian has yet to be identified.
As a result of the collision, the male pedestrian was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition.
The 52-year-old female motorists and 35-year-old male passenger remained at the scene and were not injured as a result of the collision.
At this time, speed, alcohol, nor drugs appear to be contributing factors in this collision.
