On February 20, 2025, at about 1010 hours, a critical motor vehicle collision occurred in the Waikiki area involving a pedestrian.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 28-year-old male motorist was traveling westbound on Paki Avenue and struck a 35-year-old female pedestrian who ran into the roadway. The pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk when she was struck.
The 28-year-old male motorist was not injured and remained at the scene.
The 35-year-old female pedestrian was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
At this time speed, drugs, and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors of this collision.
