On March 15, 2025, at about 11:53 PM, a critical motor vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist, occurred on Punahou Street in the Makiki area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 24 year-old male motorcyclist, was traveling southbound on Punahou Street at a high rate of speed when he collided with a parked vehicle.
As a result of the collision, the 24 year-old male motorcyclist was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition.
The 24 year-old male motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time speed appears to be a factor to this collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are contributing factors to this collision
The investigation is ongoing.
