On March 18, 2023, at about 11:12 PM, a critical motor vehicle collision, occurred in the Honolulu area involving a motorcyclist and a vehicle.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 26-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Kapiolani Boulevard. While at the intersection with Kona Iki Street, the motorcyclist was struck by an unknown motorist who has yet to be identified.

The unknown motorist fled the scene of the collision and was last seen traveling eastbound on Kapiolani Boulevard.

As a result of the collision, the 26-year-old male motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

The 26-year-old motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs, or alcohol are factors in the collision.
