On April 15, 2024, at about 6:45 PM, a critical motor vehicle collision involving a motorist and six motorcyclist occurred in the area of Kunia Road and Lyman Road in the Wahiawa area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section that a 41-year-old female motorist was traveling southbound on Kunia Road when, for unknown reasons, she traveled into the northbound lane of Kunia Road and collided head-on with six motorcyclist who were traveling northbound on Kunia Road.
As a result of the collision, all six motorcyclist were ejected onto the roadway.
As a result of the collision, the 41 year old female motorist was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.
Of the six motorcyclist who were injured, one was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. Four were taken to an area hospital in serious condition. One was taken to an area hospital in good condition.
All six of the motorcyclist were wearing helmets at the time of the collision.
At this time neither speed, drugs, nor alcohol appear to be contributing factors of this collision.
The investigation is on going.
