On March 15, 2023, at about 11:10 PM, a critical motor vehicle collision, involving a bicyclist, occurred in the area of North King Street and Long Lane in the Kalihi area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 49-year-old male bicyclist was traveling westbound on North King Street, when he was struck by an unknown motorist who has yet to be identified.
The unknown motorist fled the scene of the collision and was last seen traveling westbound on North King Street.
As a result of the collision, the 49-year-old male bicyclist was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
The 49-year-old male bicyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time, it is unknown if speed, alcohol, or drugs are factors in this collision.
