On November 03, 2024, at about 3:30 PM, a critical motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian occurred on Harding Avenue near 6th Avenue in the Kaimuki area.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 50-year-old female motorist was attempting to turn left from 6th Avenue onto Harding Avenue, when she struck a 77-year-old female pedestrian, who was crossing the roadway within a marked crosswalk.

As a result of the collision, the female pedestrian was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

The 50-year-old female motorist was not injured and remained at the scene.

At this time, neither speed, drugs, nor alcohol appear to be contributing factors of this collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
