On February 5, 2024, at about 4:10 AM, a critical motor vehicle collision involving a small sedan and a pedestrian occurred on Kapolei Parkway in the Kapolei area.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 30-year-old male motorist was traveling eastbound on Kapolei Parkway when he struck a male pedestrian who appears to have been in the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk.

As a result of the collision, the male pedestrian was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

The 30-year-old male motorist was not injured and remained at the scene.

At this time speed, drugs, and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors of this collision.
