On March 12, 2023, at about 8:00 PM, a critical motor vehicle collision occurred in the Wahiawa area involving a pedestrian.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 26 year old female motorist was traveling eastbound on California Avenue. While at intersection with Mango Street, the motorist struck an adult male pedestrian who was not in a marked crosswalk.

The female motorist was not injured and remained at the scene.

The male pedestrian who has yet to be identified, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Speed, drugs, and alcohol did not appear to be factors in this collision.
