On March 16, 2023, at about 1:55 PM, a critical motor vehicle collision occurred in the Honolulu area involving a pedestrian.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 67 year old male motorist was traveling westbound on Kapiolani Boulevard. While at the intersection with Kona Iki Street, the motorist struck a 35 year old male who was attempting to cross Kapiolani Boulevard on a skateboard.
The male motorist was not injured and remained at the scene.
The pedestrian was not wearing a helmet and was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
Speed, drugs, and alcohol did not appear to be factors in this collision.
