On June 30, 2021, at about 05:17 a.m. a critical major motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian occurred on Kamahameha Highway and Honomanu Street in the Aiea area.
On June 30, 2021, at about 05:17 a.m. a 33-year-old Aiea male was traveling westbound on Kamehameha Highway when he collided with a 48-year-old male pedestrian who was crossing Kamehameha Highway in a marked crosswalk, but against the red palm signal.
As the result of the collision, the 48-year-old Aiea male pedestrian was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. The male pedestrian was later up-graded to serious condition.
At this time neither speed, alcohol, nor drugs appear to be contributing factors of this collision.
