On February 12, 2023, at about 10:00 PM. a serious hit and run motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian occurred in the area of Farrington Highway and Helelua Street in the Nanakuli area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section that a 22-year-old male pedestrian was attempted to cross Farrington Highway in a marked crosswalk against the “Do Not Walk” sign when he was struck by an unknown motorist who has yet to be identified.
The unknown motorist fled the scene of the collision and was last seen traveling westbound on Farrington Highway possibly operating a blue compact sports utility vehicle.
As a result of the collision, the 22-year-old male pedestrian was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.
