On July 7, 2024, at about 7:49 PM, a serious hit-and-run motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle occurred on the H-2 Freeway (northbound), in the Waipahu area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 21-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling westbound on the H-1 Freeway, exiting onto the H-2 Freeway northbound when an unidentified motorist rear-ended his motorcycle.
The unidentified motorist continued traveling northbound on the H-2 Freeway without stopping to render aid or provide information.
As a result of the collision, the 21-year-old motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway.
The 21-year-old motorcyclist was transported by Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in serious condition.
The 21-year-old motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs, or alcohol were contributing factors.
