On January 08, 2025, at about 6:46 PM, a serious hit-and-run motor vehicle collision involving a moped occurred on Isenberg Street near Date Street, in the Honolulu area.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a motorist who has yet to be identified was traveling westbound on Date Street, when they were broadsided by a 29-year-old male moped rider who was traveling southbound on Isenberg Street.

After the collision the unidentified motorist continued traveling westbound on Date Street without stopping to render aid or provide information.

As a result of the collision, the 29-year-old male moped rider was taken to an area hospital in serious condition by Emergency Medical Services.

The 29-year-old male moped rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs, or alcohol are factors in this collision.
