On April 21, 2024, at about 7:10 PM, a serious hit and run motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle occurred on Waialua Beach Road in the Waialua area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a male motorcyclist, who has yet to be identified, was traveling westbound on Waialua Beach Road with his 33-year-old female passenger, when for unknown reasons the male motorcyclist traveled onto the unimproved shoulder and collided into a plastic water barrier.
As a result of the collision, the male motorcyclist and his passenger were ejected onto the unimproved shoulder.
The unidentified male motorcyclist then fled the scene leaving his passenger behind. His motorcycle is described as a dark colored Harley Davidson motorcycle.
The 33-year-old female passenger was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in serious condition.
At the time of the collision the female passenger was not wearing a helmet.
At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs, or alcohol are contributing factors.
