On February 23, 2025, at about 1017 hours, a serious motor vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist occurred on the Farrington Highway off-ramp near Fort Weaver Road in the Ewa Beach area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that an HPD Police Officer was at a stop in the traffic lane of the Farrington Highway on-ramp when his vehicle was struck by a 35-year-old motorcyclist who exited westbound off of Fort Weaver Road onto the Farrington Highway on-ramp.
As a result of the collision, the 35-year-old motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway.
The 35-year-old motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital in serious condition.
The HPD Police Officer was transported to an area hospital in good condition.
The 35-year-old male motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time, speed may be a contributing factor of this collision. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors of this collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
