On March 25, 2025, at about 11:41 PM, a serious motor vehicle collision involving a electric motorcycle occurred on Ala Moana Boulevard in the Kakaako area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that an HPD Police Officer was traveling eastbound on Ala Moana Boulevard when he was struck by a 28-year-old male electric motorcyclist, who was traveling northbound on the sidewalk of Ilalo Street and traveled into the eastbound lanes of Ala Moana Boulevard.
As a result of the collision, the 28-year-old male electric motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway.
The 28-year-old male electric motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.
The HPD Police Officer was not injured as a result of the collision.
The 28-year-old male electric motorcyclist not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time, neither speed, drugs, nor alcohol appeared to be contributing factors in the collision.
