***ORIGINAL***
On March 24, 2023, at about 9:35 PM, a fatal single motor vehicle collision occurred on Keaahala Road in the Kaneohe area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 53-year-old adult female motorist was traveling westbound on Keaahala Road when, for unknown reasons, she veered right of the roadway, and collided into a utility pole.
As a result of the collision, the 53-year-old adult female motorist was transported, via Emergency Medical Services, to an area hospital in critical condition where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The 53-year-old female motorist was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
At this time, speed does not appear to be a factor in this collision. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs are factors.
This is the 14th Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 16 during the same time in 2022.
The investigation is ongoing.
