On March 7, 2025, a moped, operated by a 49 year-old male may have been traveling southbound on Liliha Street and struck one or multiple vehicles in the intersection of Liliha Street and Holokahana Lane.

The other vehicle(s) involved left the scene without stopping to render aid or provide information.

The 49 year-old male moped operator was transported by Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in serious condition.

On March 17, 2025, the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section was notified by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office that the 49 year-old male moped operator involved in this collision had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

This is the 17th Traffic Fatality of 2025 as compared to 6 at the same time in 2024.
