On April 25, 2023, at about 7:57 PM, a fatal single motorcycle collision occurred on Kalanianaole Highway in the Hawaii Kai area.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 20-year-old adult male motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Kalanianaole Highway, when for unknown reasons, he lost control and was ejected onto the sidewalk.

As a result of the collision, the 20-year-old adult male motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 20-year-old male motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

At this time, speed appears to be a factor in this collision. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs are factors.

This is the 20th Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 18 during the same time in 2022.

The investigation is ongoing.
