On April 30, 2023, at about 1:30 AM, a fatal single motorcycle collision occurred on Kapolei Parkway in the Kapolei area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 35-year-old adult male motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Kapolei Parkway, when for unknown reasons, he lost control and was ejected onto the median.
As a result of the collision, the 35-year-old adult male motorcyclist was transported, via Emergency Medical Services, to an area hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The 35-year-old male motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time, it is unknown if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in this collision.
This is the 23rd Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 18 during the same time in 2022.
The investigation is ongoing.
