On June 22, 2021, at about 1206 hours, a serious Motor Vehicle Collision occurred at the North King Street and Umi Street intersection, in Honolulu.
A 50 year old female, operating a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro, was on North King Street and was approaching the Umi Street intersection, when it collided with an 82 year old female pedestrian who was within a marked crosswalk.
The elderly female pedestrian was taken to an area hospital as a precautionary measure and was listed as being in Good/Stable condition. Her condition deteriorated and she succumbed to her injuries.
Speed does not appear to be a factor in this collision. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors.
This is the 25th traffic fatality of the year 2021, compared to 22 from last year.
