On May 14, 2023, at about 10:50 PM, a fatal single motorcycle collision occurred on Kamehameha Highway in the Kahuku area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 24-year-old adult male motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Kamehameha Highway, when for unknown reasons, he lost control and was ejected onto the right shoulder.
As a result of the collision, the 24-year-old adult male motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 24-year-old male motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time, speed appears to be a factor in this collision. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs are factors.
This is the 27th Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 18 during the same time in 2022.
The investigation is ongoing.
