On 7-19-2021 at about 0504 hours a serious Motor Vehicle Collision occurred in the Nanakuli area involving a male driving a small sedan and a female pedestrian. Unit 1 was traveling westbound on Farrington Hwy. The pedestrian was crossing Farrington Hwy. from North to South and was struck in the roadway. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk when she was struck. The collision caused the pedestrian to be ejected onto the roadway where she hit her head. The pedestrian was taken to The Waianae Comprehensive Center in Critical Condition where she later died.
At this time speed, alcohol, and drugs do not appear to be factors in the collision.
This is the 27th Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year as 27 at this time last year.
