On July 11, 2023, at about 9:00 PM, a serious motor vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist occurred on Farrington Highway near Fort Barrette Road in the Kapolei area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 46-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Farrington Highway when he collided with the center-raised curb median.
The 46-year-old male motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway as a result of the collision. At the time of the collision the 46-year old male motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.
The 46-year-old male motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.
On August 8, 2023, the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, was notified by the Medical Examiner’s Office that the 46-year-old male motorcyclist had succumbed to his injuries and he was pronounced dead.
This is the 33rd Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year, as compared to 29 at this same in 2022.
The investigation is ongoing.
