On February 14, 2024, at about 1:22 AM, a fatal single motor vehicle collision occurred on Fort Weaver Road in the Ewa Beach area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 46-year-old adult male motorist was traveling northbound on Fort Weaver Road when, for unknown reasons, he traveled left of the roadway, onto the center median, and collided into a tree.
As a result of the collision, the 46-year-old adult male motorist was transported, via Emergency Medical Service, to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The adult male motorist was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
At this time, speed appears to be a factor in this collision. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs is a factor.
This is the 4th Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 7 during the same time in 2023.
The investigation is ongoing.
